FAQ
Dear reader, it rhymes. That’s about it.
…Just kidding! Okay, so other than it rhyming, it’s my brain and my heart. A lucid dream is a dream wherein the material of the dream can be manipulated. Some people call it witchcraft, but naturally I’m thinking more in terms of my dreams and goals. I want to be able to shape my dreams and goals! And if that means blogging, and photography, and talking wild nonsense, then YES: that is just it. An extreme is a noun that denotes the highest (or a very high) degree of something. An extent. Something to be reached, when talking in terms of creativity. And life. And love. Does it all make sense? I hope so. Anyway, that’s the meaning behind LD&CE.
I am blessed to be one-half of a couple that runs a small business together, and I’m proud to be part of it. Layer One Photography is a small but growing photography business that I run with my boyfriend.
I love my puppy, Paddington. I like reading, writing (mostly fiction), & singing really loud. I take photos, I peruse blogs and I have a bad habit of collecting paint sample chips at the hardware store. I play guitar (and bass guitar) at church as well as on my own at home. I like teaching, especially the story-time part. I love arts and crafts, and designing paper goods. My other hobby is planning and coordinating events and get-togethers. I hope to someday make this more than a hobby.
Why not photography? I have loved photos since I was a baby (no kidding; I’m actually posing in the very first photo of me ever taken). I was always that photogenic little kid
As for why not something else…well…at this point in my life, I feel God’s taking me down a path that says “Photography is what’s right for you.” Do I still have a lot to learn? Yes!!! But I’m confident I am at the right place right now.
I would definitely look into event planning and coordinating. My other passion is creating pretty things, and I honestly love crafting and paper goods and all that kind of stuff! I really hope I can push this into something more than a hobby, but right now I’m focused on photography, and I’m super happy and blessed to be able to do what I love.
Your favourite verse?
Matthew 7:7 – “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
Quick! You’re packing for an impromptu 2 week trip – what do you bring and why?
I’m bringing Paddington, definitely. My phone, my camera, my laptop and all corresponding chargers. Along with my clothing (all itemized in a list, I assure you), I’ll pack more socks and underwear than I could possibly ever need, as well as Polysporin, Vaseline and Visine. And I’ll probably bring three pairs of shoes. Never know when you’re gonna need a pair of fancy heels, right? I’ll have my purse, which contains my wallet, an extra-large Moleskine notebook, my Moleskine agenda, my iPad mini and my Hello Kitty business card holder. It also holds at least two Sharpies. Lastly, I’ll bring a stuffed toy. I never travel without one.
Describe yourself in five words.
1) Not. 2) Good. 3) At. 4) Being. 5) Pithy. HONESTLY! I can’t use five words to describe myself. I’m going to stop there.
